Biruni University Biomedical Engineering Department is founded with an aim to educate biomedical engineers which have basic knowledge in the fields like science, human anatomy and physiology, basic and applied math, system modeling and analysis, material, electronics, control and computers; which have theoretical and practical skills in the design, production and usage of medical devices; and which have a professional understanding of responsibilities, are creative, have a systematic approach in problem solving, inclined towards teamwork, cares about the environment, have social, economic, and professional awareness and responsibilities of ethics and have leadership qualities.
The education program of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, which will be carried out in harmony with the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, the Department of Mechatronics (which is planned to be opened next year) and the Faculty of Medicine, is designed in a way that allows students to decide duration of their education, area of expertise, and the work spaces after graduation, in accordance with their interests and skills.
